Upper curb, lower curb

Meet the car you reserved: airport pickup at the arrivals curb at MCI

A ride to the airport ends at one curb and a ride home starts at another. Leaving is simple. Coming back takes a short walk and a few numbers, so this page sets out the airport pickup at the arrivals curb at MCI in the order you will meet it, and names what to put on the request when you reserve either direction.

CE Travel Services is an independently owned booking office in Kansas City. At the curb you meet the car company named on your written fare, the one whose fixed rate you accepted and whom you pay; it pays the office for passing the booking on.

Call +1 (816) 842-4783 Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. or Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Central time.

Outbound: drop off on the upper level

On a ride to MCI the car stops at the departures curb on the upper level, and the ride ends there. The planning sits at the other end, at your own door. You give your flight's departure time on the request, the company sets a pickup time around it and confirms it with you in writing, and that confirmed pickup time is when you should be outside with your bags.

Give the road some room. Drive times on this site are measured at a quiet hour, and the evening rush adds about half again, so a pickup that meets the evening rush needs that extra time built in. On a morning of snow or ice the company may ask to move the pickup earlier; the fare stays as written. From the Northland the route crosses no river at all, and the Northland airport transfer to MCI page lists the places on that side.

From baggage claim to posts 3J through 3N

Coming home, the walk to the car runs in a set order. The car meets you across the crosswalk at the Commercial Curb rather than at the doors you step out of, so it helps to have the steps in mind before you land:

  1. Collect your bags at baggage claim.
  2. Take the elevator, escalator or stairs down to the lower Arrivals level.
  3. Step outside and use the crosswalk to reach the Commercial Curb.
  4. Walk to posts 3J to 3N, the zone the airport keeps for pre-arranged cars.
  5. Check your phone or your email: the company tells you when the car is there, by text if you ticked the call and text box.

Those post numbers come from the airport map of 2026. The airport draws its own curbs and may move the zone, so on the day the signs at the Commercial Curb come before anything printed here. Keep your phone with you either way: the company's message that the car has arrived comes by text if you ticked the call and text box and by email if not, and on the day the driver uses that number about the pickup.

When a driver can meet at terminal baggage claim

Some passengers would rather be met inside, with a driver holding their name at baggage claim. Ask for it on the request. Whether it can happen depends on your flight, because a driver who comes inside has to leave the car in the garage first. The company looks at your arrival and tells you yes or no.

If the answer is no, the plan is the curb walk above, and the car meets you at the posts as usual. If it is yes, the meeting point moves inside to baggage claim instead of the posts. A request that does not ask for it is planned around the posts.

Late arrivals and your flight number

Put the flight number on the request. With it, the company can follow the flight, and your written fare says how it counts the wait after a late landing.

How long the driver waits after you land at no charge is written in the fare the company sends, and so is what waiting past that costs. You see all of it before you say yes. If your flight changes, tell the office or the company as soon as you know, and the company confirms the new pickup time in writing. For the steps on the form itself, read how to request an airport transfer quote 24/7.

Why every ride home starts at the crosswalk

MCI opened its single terminal on February 28, 2023. With one building, every arrival leaves through the same lower Arrivals level, whichever gate you came in at, so one set of directions serves every flight, and you need not know your gate before you send the request.

That is why the directions on this page begin at the crosswalk and not at a gate or a door number. The doors you walk out of may differ from trip to trip, but the crosswalk always leads to the Commercial Curb, and cars reserved ahead meet you there, in the zone the airport sets aside for them. Cross first, then look for the posts.

Last step here

Reserve either direction from this form

The page ends with the form because none of the curb details matter until a car is reserved for you. Send the place, the date and the flight number. The written fare comes back by email; after your yes, the company confirms the pickup in writing.

Call +1 (816) 842-4783 Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. or Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Central time.

Your pickup request

The form asks for the place first, then the ride itself with its date and flight number, and only after that for your name and how to reach you.

Sedan and SUV figures for every place are on the fares page.

Free quote, no obligation: the car company's fixed rate comes back in writing before anything is booked, and no card number is asked for. Sending this asks the office for a written fare from a local car company and, once you say yes, to reserve the ride with that company; nothing is held in your name until that company confirms it to you in writing. Sending accepts the terms of a request and the privacy page.
