Fares, curbs, cars, holidays
Ask here before you reserve: request an airport transfer quote 24/7 and settle the rest in writing
Below, eighteen questions sit in four groups: fares and paying, sending a request, the curbs at MCI, and the car itself. If yours is missing, request an airport transfer quote 24/7 through the form and put the question in the note. A written reply comes back by email, and nothing is owed until you say yes to a fare.
CE Travel Services is an independently owned booking office in Kansas City. Answers on this page come from the office; rides come from the company named on each written fare, which charges its fixed rate, is paid by you and pays the office for each booking.
Call +1 (816) 842-4783 Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. or Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Central time.
Fares, extras and paying
What do the figures for my pickup place show?
Each place carries two from figures, one for a sedan and one for an SUV, per car, each way. Platte City, the nearest place, starts from $105 by sedan and from $125 by SUV. Among the farthest, Lee's Summit and Raymore start from $175 by sedan and from $210 by SUV. Your own amount depends on the car, your street address and the pickup time, and it is the car company's fixed rate in its written fare. All 40 places are printed on the fares page.
What does the printed figure include, and what comes on top?
The printed figure is where fares from that place start for the ride itself; the car company's written fare is the amount that counts. It covers the drive, the fuel, the car for your party alone and the waiting time named on the written fare. If a company's rate includes a gratuity, the written fare shows it as a separate line, outside the from figure and before your yes. Anything beyond the ride, such as a second stop, waiting past the named time, the airport trip fee if the company adds one or a child seat if the company charges for it, shows up as its own line in the written fare, and you see every line before you say yes.
Whom do I pay, and who hands me the receipt?
The car company named on the written fare. You pay that company for the ride, and it gives you the receipt. Its written fare is already its fixed rate for that ride, and it stays as written once you accept. The office earns a set amount from the company for each reservation it passes on, so the form never asks you for a card number.
What is owed if I withdraw or cancel?
Before you say yes to a written fare, you can withdraw the request at any point and nothing is owed. After your yes, the cancellation terms printed in that company's written fare apply, and you read them on that fare before you say yes. The cancellation policy walks through each case.
Sending a request, getting a reply
How do I get a free quote, and when is it confirmed?
Fill in the request form with your place, the date, the car size and, for a ride home, the flight number. The office asks local car companies for a written fare and emails you one company's fare. The quote costs nothing. Say yes, and the office passes the reservation on to that company's office. Nothing is reserved until the company confirms the pickup in writing.
Can I send a request in the middle of the night?
Yes. The form takes requests 24/7, so you can send one whenever your plans settle, even well after midnight. A request that lands overnight, whether before or after midnight, is answered by email by 10 a.m. on the morning that follows that night. On Saturday and Sunday the form is the only channel, and a weekend request is answered the same way, by email by 10 a.m. the next morning.
Can I speak to a specialist before sending anything?
Yes, by phone at +1 (816) 842-4783, Monday to Thursday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Central time. Saturday and Sunday: the form only. A request sent while the phone is open gets a written answer within two hours. If the office phones you back, the caller starts with their own name, says they are with the office and leaves a number you can ring.
How far ahead should I send a request in a holiday week?
Send it as soon as you know the flight. Around Thanksgiving, the weeks of Christmas and New Year and the spring school breaks, a week or two ahead helps the office find a free car. The from figure is the same in every week of the year, and the written fare tells you if a company's rate differs on a holiday date. A later request still gets a plain word on whether a company has a car.
What does the call and text box on the form mean?
Ticking it lets the office, and the car company that takes your ride, phone or text the number on your request about that request and nothing else. Reply STOP and the texts end. Without the tick, every reply comes by email, and only the driver uses the number, on the day of the ride. Whoever calls gives their own name, the office or company they speak for, and a number to reach them.
Curbs, posts and landing times
Where does the car leave me for a departure?
At the departures curb on the upper level. MCI has a single terminal, opened on February 28, 2023, so there is one curb to aim for. Your pickup time at home is the one in the company's written confirmation. On a snow or ice morning the company may ask to move the pickup earlier, and the fare stays where it was.
How do I find my car after I land?
From baggage claim take the elevator, escalator or stairs down to the lower Arrivals level, step outside and use the crosswalk to the Commercial Curb. The car meets you in the zone the airport keeps for pre-arranged cars, at posts 3J to 3N on the 2026 airport map; the airport may move it. If you ticked the call and text box, the company texts you when the car is there; without it, that message comes by email. The arrivals page has the walk in more detail.
How long will the car wait if the landing runs late?
Your written fare names how long the driver waits after your flight lands and what waiting past that costs. Put the flight number on the request and the company can follow the flight, and the written fare says how the wait is counted.
Can the driver meet me inside at baggage claim?
A meet at terminal pickup, inside at baggage claim with your name, is something to ask for on the request. The driver has to park in the garage to come in, so the company says yes or no for your particular flight. If it says no, the car meets you at the Commercial Curb as usual.
What if my flight time changes after I say yes?
Tell the office or the company as soon as you know. The company confirms the new time in writing, and that note is the one to keep. The company can follow the flight number, and the written fare says how a delay that only shows up on the day is counted.
Car sizes and special requests
Should I ask for a sedan or an SUV?
Count heads first. A sedan seats up to 3 passengers and an SUV up to 6, and each ride carries only your own party. From Overland Park the sedan starts from $150 and the SUV from $180 per car, each way. The cars page sets out both sizes side by side.
Can the company bring a child seat?
Ask on the request. The company says whether it can bring one, and if it charges for the seat, that charge appears as a line in the written fare you read before saying yes. You may also bring your own seat.
How do I ask for a car with a ramp or lift?
Tick the ramp or lift box on the form, or mention it in the note or on a call. The company confirms in writing that it can send such a vehicle before you say yes. The request only asks what the vehicle needs to have. A service animal rides with you; mention it in the note so the company knows ahead of time.
What if my pickup place is outside the 40 listed?
Ask anyway, on the form or by phone, and give the town or neighborhood. The office finds out whether a company working with it can take that ride and tells you plainly. The 40 places fall into six service areas, one for each of the five bridges plus the Northland, which needs none, so a town just past the edge of one is worth a question.
Still unsure about something? The front page sets out each step, and from there you can reserve a Kansas City airport transfer for the day you fly. If the place, date and car are already settled, book your airport ride to MCI on the form; the written reply says whether a company has a car, and a reservation holds only once that company confirms it.
